5 Reasons Why You Have Need Breakfast

Happy halfway-through January to all you beauties! So based on the title of this post you obviously all know today’s topic…. my favorite meal of the day.

I have a confession to make to all of you before I list the five reasons why I truly believe we all need breakfast. I NEVER USED TO EAT BREAKFAST (holy sweet mother of Food never used to eat breakfast, WHATTT!?). Well, you'll be surprised at how many people don’t. To this day I am not really sure why I didn’t eat breakfast, and when I did it was usually greek leftovers or something my mom would literally force-feed me.

I didn’t want to eat breakfast because I was never hungry in the morning, and when I did it I would become more hungry much faster than if I didn’t eat it, and lastly because for some reason it gave me too much energy?!?!?! and I didn’t want that while I was in school trying to get good grades to get into a university (insert sarcasm)- and somehow I still managed to get into a good school. If this isn’t a motivation in itself to consider need breakfast then I don’t know what is.

If you follow me on Instagram you know I love breakfast. Like love it, I will eat two some mornings, just because I can. My body feels it, and I notice such a difference at the gym, at my job, and in my home. My energy levels are ridiculous (like you would honestly think I was cast in Alice in Wonderland… THE SPEED OF MY LIFE WHEN I EAT BREAKFAST I TELL YA!), my brain and mind are so clear, and my body loves me for it. Before I give away all the reasons I will just list them, so here you go homies:

5 REASONS WHY YOU NEED BREAKFAST!

Need Breakfast does not need you!

IT IS EASY! I get it, sometimes we wake up, and the idea of whipping up a
needed breakfast is not the most appealing, but that’s why blenders and smoothies are so kick ass. Literally, people try this:

Into a blender add:

1 banana, 1/2 a cup of blueberries, 1/4 a cup of oats, 4 ice cubes, 1 tbsp or a few splashes of unsweetened coconut milk and honey. It is simple, nutritious, and basically an oat bowl in a glass.

If you want to do it, you can do it! and I basically just told you how to! Also, look at these awesome smoothie recipes so you can amp up your game, but when you’re ready of course!

YOU WILL HAVE MORE ENERGY
Like I said, need breakfast gives you ridiculous amounts of energy! And there are so many options to do so.

Oat bowls (there are a lot of oat recipes under my breakfast recipes), smoothies, eggs on toast, pancakes (3 recipes in breakfasts), veggies on toast, yogurt, breakfast wraps, healthy snacks, banana bread, AND IT IS ENDLESS!

I promise you guys, if you wake up tired, a bit sad as there is no sun on my side of the hemisphere, need breakfast will help you get back, and stay on track! When you don’t eat breakfast you’re basically running on empty (which is equal to not getting enough sleep, not being active enough, not drinking water, etc!). It’s all the same stuff, my people. If you get a good night's sleep, you’re basically counteracting that awesomeness if you don’t fuel your body.

Think of all the benefits of need breakfast

It helps you get through your day
stimulates that workout
increases your metabolism
promotes healthy weight loss
decrease the chances of fat storage
YOU ARE SETTING A GOOD EXAMPLE
For those of you baby daddies, and mama hotties… if you eat breakfast, your kids will want to eat breakfast too. For those of you who taken birdies, your other half with want to eat breakfast. For those of you living with your “roommates” aka your parents who might not believe in breakfast it might make them want to eat it too!

A perfect example here is my Papa Steve. Growing up that man DID. NOT. EAT. BREAKFAST. in fact he thought it was responsible for his weight gain, haha, ya right dad, that was because we were all eating fresh bread, feta, and olives before bed every night. Anyway, over the past 5 years, this man has started eating oats, fresh fruit, and yogurt for breaky, and damn he is looking fine. He feels great, works out daily, still twerking, and working! Breakfast is good my loves, get it in ya!

SIDE NOTE: as sad as this may sound but not eating breakfast has the same effects on children as it does on adults.

decreased levels of energy
little brain capacity
mood swings
obesity
menstrual problems (hormone balance is super important in women, we don’t wanna mess that up early)
low physical activity… the list goes on my bunnies
Please, if you don’t eat breakfast, at least try to feed your little guys, even if it is a piece of rye toast, peanut butter, and a banana. It will change their day!

SMOOTH MOVES
Yep, you read it, smooth moves. Breakfast will make ya poop! I swear a few years ago it was illegal to talk about it, but now it is like a common topic for most fit, fitness, eating freaks! Need breakfast helps your body digest, get moving, and helps increase that metabolism. We all want that well-fuelled machine guys, and breakfast is seriously the first step to an awesome, well functioning digestive system.

YOUR BIGGEST MEAL HELPS YOU GET THOSE NUTRIENTS

If you need to eat around 7 servings of veggies and fruit a day (eat as much as you want, VEG/FRUIT are your medicine), plus carbs, plus proteins…. you need to eat breakfast. You cannot expect to eat the recommended dose of foods in two meals (most humans eat three meals a day, but I seriously suggest everyone eat 2 snacks a day), you are setting yourself up for failure, and often will lead to making the wrong food decision. When your belly starts to get hungry at 11 while you’re sitting at that desk you don’t think about what you’re going to eat, you just think about GETTING food into you. That’s another reason why eating breaky is super important, it helps you make better food decisions throughout the day.

I really hope you could read how passionate I am about this meal. I am not the one to push anything on anyone. Those of you who know me know I’m honest, aggressive, and super in love with fuelling our bodies. If there is anything you can take from this post please let it be that change cannot come overnight. Breakfast won’t be easy to eat at first. Hell, you might only eat it once a week at first, but slowly and certainly surely I promise you will start noticing a difference.
